Buskie + Tjåland 2012
In 2012, I collaborated with Evy Tjaland in a two part exhibition; the first part took place in Edinburgh and the second in Lindesnes, Norway.
I Found, I Found: Part Two was a residency at Galleri Ramsalt which was formerly a fish canning factory designed by Bauhaus architect Thilo Schoder. His wife, Bergliot Dahl and sister, Marie Gutheil-Schoder, were both opera signers. By the end of the residency, we had become interested in architectural space, the idea of a 4th dimension, movement through space, and sound.
The film Leting was attempt to combine the story of the Thilo Schoder and sister Marie Gutheil-Schoder and the people who had worked in his building. Marie’s operatic voice underscores the film which shows the ethereal figure of a woman, possibly existing in a 4th dimension, dancing through the industrial space.
