I make art because I am curious. I am curious about materials and marks, words and objects, history and now. I immerse myself in the process of making as if playing. I play with composition and the endless possibilities of arranging one object beside another. I choose words and shuffle them to create stories. I take photos, record sounds, film and then edit. Sifting through the fragments rejecting then selecting what I need. Sometimes I will repeat the process gather new things and return like a magpie stuffed full. I assemble and destroy until I reach a place of tranquility and order and then I stop. A temporary void germinates as I wait for new thoughts to emerge.
